The Dextrous Hand is a 3 -finger gripper hand for positive and non-positive gripping of a variety of workpieces with multiple joints that are capable for industrial use. Important requirements, such as ruggedness and insensitivity, safety for humans and processes as well as flexibility in form, size and in particular the position of the parts to be gripped, must be met.

The pressure and surface recognition is optionally taken over by a tactile sensor system. Thus it is possible with the gripping process to detect if the object can be gripped optimally or if the grip should be adjusted (reactive grip). The grip force may be sensitively determined and controlled via sensors. The required control strategy may be loaded as a program module in the memory of the hand electronics.

- Utilized for service and assistance in production without retooling times

- Precise grip with correct strength of difficult to handle objects

- Secure gripping of part familias

- Absolute flexibility by regulating the gripping force, speed and position

- Mobile application possibilities by means of 24 V DC energy supply

- Very high gripping forces realizable by means of joint modules with 4.8 Nm respectively 2.1 Nm (approaches that of a person)

- Dust and waterproof
